Basic training

The basic course offered by Amilpies is aimed at pilots who want to take their first steps in tailwheel aircraft or pilots looking to refresh their skills in this type of plane.

The course is conducted using the Savage Cub S 914turbo.

We recommend completing the course over a minimum of two consecutive days, and the required hours depend on each individual’s skill and the pilot’s previous experience.

The course begins with an initial theoretical part where the fundamental differences between a tailwheel and a tricycle gear are explained, along with the advantages and disadvantages, various landing techniques, maneuvers in crosswind, etc. In a later phase, the learned techniques are put into practice, with a focus on taxiing, takeoff, and landing maneuvers.

Flight hours: 5 hours + ground school

Intermediate

Our intermediate course is aimed at pilots who want to take their first steps or refresh their skills in this type of aircraft and add a more advanced part of specific techniques for handling landings on occasional unprepared or off-field runways.

The course consists of 7 flight hours + ground school and takes place over 5 days using a Savage Cub S 914turbo.

This course is ideal for pilots traveling from other European countries. Typically, in 5 days, weather conditions are guaranteed to allow for the completion of flights.

Savage Norden 160cv Hi performance

Advanced training

If you are already an experienced tailwheel pilot after completing our intermediate course and want to take it a step further.

Crosswinds, precision landings, constant angle of attack landings supported by the engine.

Adaptation to the Savage Norden with 160hp is part of this course. In this advanced course, you will gain the necessary experience to progress safely in this exciting type of aviation. (Coming soon)”
